Addressing
Addressing provides a standard means of locating key places for the purpose of providing mailing and emergency services and defining an orderly means to reference a location.
  • All applications must adhere to the criteria in Chapter 13.56 of the Caribou County Code. Chapter 13.56 Addressing 
  • By obtaining an address, it does NOT imply a building right. If questions arise on whether or not the acreage is buildable, please reach out to P&Z before applying for an Address.
  • Address Application: Addressing Application
    •  Please provide the following in the application:
      • GPS Coordinate (You may also visit the GIS department of the Caribou County Courthouse in Soda Springs for assistance in obtaining the correct coordinates)
      • Nearest cross streets
      • Please attach a Location Map. A sample location map and details are explained on the second page of the application.
      • The location for the new address needs to be clearly flagged in the center of the proposed structure if the address assigner will be obtaining the GPS location of the structure. 
  • Fee Schedule:
    • New Assignments: $300
    • Re-Address at Owner's Request: $200
    • The fee associated with the new address pays for the time and material it takes to issue and implement a GPS location into the Caribou County E911 system. It also includes an initial marker installed with the proper signage needed to meet county code.
    • Where to pay for Address: Clerk/Recorders office
    • If sending application via US Postal Mail please make payment to Caribou County and mail application to:
