2020 Caribou County Fair Canceled

After much deliberation and careful thought, we wish to inform you that the Caribou County Fair will be canceled for 2020. Due to unknown conditions of the current pandemic and the restrictions on large gatherings, the Commissioners along with the fair board have determined that this is the safest decision. After review of the "Govenor's Rebound for Idaho" the fact is that there is no way that we can put on a successful Fair & Rodeo and still meet the CDC and Health District guidelines.

The 4-H program and the market animal livestock auction will proceed and still will take place this year with details for follow later. We also plan on taking this opportunity to make some much-needed improvements to the fair grounds. We look forward to the day that we can gather as friends and neighbors under more normal circumstances, and enjoy the customs and traditions that we are used to.

Caribou County Commissioners
Phil Christensen, Chairman
Mark Mathews, Commissioner
Bryce Somsen, Commissioner

*Of note the Commissioners was a 2-1 decision with Phil Christensen and Mark Mathews voting in favor of canceling the fair and Bryce Somsen against canceling. Additionally the Fair Board was a small margin majority in favor of canceling the Fair after all the information presented.
